Eligibility Requirements

1. 1. Age:
   • Must be 21 years of age or older.
2. 
   2. Residency and Business Management:
   
   • Must intend to live permanently in Nova Scotia while owning and actively managing a business in the
     province.
3. 
   3. Net Worth:
   
   • $600,000 CAD minimum net worth if the business is within Halifax Regional Municipality
     (HRM).
   • $400,000 CAD minimum net worth if the business is outside HRM.
4. 
   4. Investment:
   
   • $150,000 CAD minimum personal investment required to establish a business in Nova
     Scotia.
   • $100,000 CAD minimum investment if the business is located outside HRM.
5. 
   5. Business Experience:
   
   • At least 3 years of experience actively managing and owning a business with a minimum
     of 1/3 ownership, or
   • More than 5 years of experience in a senior business management role.
6. 
   6. Language Proficiency:
   
   • Must have a score of at least 5 on the Canadian Language Benchmark in speaking,
     listening, reading, and writing in either English or French.
7. 
   7. Expression of Interest:
   
   • Complete an online Expression of Interest (EOI) form.
8. 
   8. Invitation to Apply:
   
   • Must receive an Invitation to Apply from Labour, Skills, and Immigration.

Application Process

1. 1. Expression of Interest (EOI):
   • Submit an online Expression of Interest detailing your business experience, proposed investment, and intent to reside in Nova Scotia.
2. 
   2. Invitation to Apply:
   
   • If your EOI is successful, you will receive an Invitation to Apply from Labour, Skills, and Immigration.
3. 
   3. Submit Application:
   
   • Once invited, submit a full application detailing your business plan, financial situation, and other required documentation.
4. 
   4. Business Establishment:
   
   • After approval, establish your business in Nova Scotia and manage it actively for at least one year.
5. 
   5. Nomination for Permanent Residence:
   
   • After operating the business for one year and meeting the program’s conditions, you may be nominated for permanent residence.
